Radon testing

What is Radon?

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive, odorless, colorless gas that can cause lung cancer. This gas rises out of the earth and as it decays it emits radioactive Uranium energy. You can't see or smell radon. It seeps into the home through cracks and other voids in the floor and walls. Testing is the only way to know your level of exposure. The test takes a few days and are evaluated using the latest and most effective technology available.

What does EPA recommend?

If you are buying or selling, you should have the building tested for radon.

  • For a new home, ask if radon-resistant construction features were used and if the home has been tested.

  • If the radon level is 4 picocuries per liter, or pCi/L, or higher, radon mitigation is recommended.

  • Radon levels less than 4 pCi/L still pose a risk, and in many cases, may be reduced.

What do we do to ensure radon is accurately evaluated?

We use the best tools available. Our continuous radon monitors are the best technology we could find and rated as the premier product for this purpose.

Ask other inspection companies what they use and the credentials of the test personnel.
